Law 4738/2020 came into force, which gives the opportunity to citizens and businesses to give a final solution, to issues of debts to the State, Banking Institutions and others

For the beneficiaries of the program, the new law provides for regulation completely out of court, with the number of installments to the public bodies the 240 installments while for the banking institutions it can reach up to 420. At the same time, part of the debts to the public, the banks and loan managers under certain conditions and is made when repaying the amount resulting from the settlement of debts.

An important difference compared to the previous law (4469/2017) is the possibility of integration of natural persons. 

The applications of the beneficiaries for the inclusion in the mechanism, are submitted through the digital platform of electronic submission and management of applications of the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management (EDIG) of the Ministry of Finance www.keyd.gov.gr. 

Integration steps 

1. Those interested should submit an application for interest, authorizing the lifting of banking and tax secrecy. 
2. The system will draw all the data related to debts, income and assets. 
3. In an automated way, the platform will define the arrangement for tax and insurance funds. 
4. Credit institutions and funds will submit a separate regulation proposal. 
5. If the proposal secures the consent of the debtor and the majority of creditors, it will be sent to the tax office and funds for approval. 
6. If the conditions are met, approval will be provided.
