Doing Business Green in Crete – Action 1.3.2

Objective of the Action
The objective of the action is to enhance the sustainable development and competitiveness of existing SMEs in the Region of Crete, through the implementation of productive investments that promote environmental protection and the transition to more “green” business practices.
The action aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce the environmental footprint of businesses and support the circular economy, while contributing to the creation and preservation of jobs and the strengthening of the local economy.
Eligible Beneficiaries
Eligible beneficiaries are existing very small, small and medium-sized enterprises that:
- Have commenced business activity before 01/01/2023
- Have at least two fully closed financial years at the time of application submission

Action Budget
The total budget of the action amounts to €5,000,000 with a public funding rate of 60%.
The minimum eligible budget per project is set at €30,000, while the maximum amounts to €300,000.
Eligible Expenditure
- Expenditure on equipment, transport means and instruments
- Production and mechanical equipment
- Automation systems and specialized information systems
- Digital office equipment
- Other business equipment
- Circular economy equipment
- Equipment for the installation of photovoltaic stations and energy storage systems for electricity generation and coverage of own needs
- Electric transport vehicles
- Expenditure for buildings, land, facilities and surrounding areas
- Building interventions for environmental protection, energy and water saving, and waste processing
- Service provision expenditure
- Indirect costs (up to 7% of eligible direct costs of the investment project)
