Support for Existing Very Small and Small Businesses in Island Areas of the 2021-2027 "I Do Green Business" Grant Program

Purpose

This call is addressed to existing small and very small enterprises that operate or will operate on islands with a population of up to 3,100 inhabitants (2021 census).

It aims to support the establishment of businesses and strengthen the competitiveness of new small and very small enterprises on the small islands (SDIM islands of DAM) with populations up to 3,100.

The action seeks to address the challenges of globalization and the post-lignite era in order to safeguard existing jobs and create new ones.

Funding Amount

Funding applications ranging from €20,000 to €150,000 are supported. The rate of Public Funding amounts to 70% of the eligible project budget.

Terms and Conditions

The action encourages investment projects that aim to utilize and develop modern technologies, innovative processes and tools in production, upgrade of produced products and/or provided services, including actions that adopt best practices and modern infrastructure in energy efficiency. Each investment plan must include costs related to Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency at a rate of at least 30%.

Priority will be given to sectors identified by the National Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3).

Indirect costs must amount to 7% of the final certified direct costs.

Beneficiary enterprises must increase employment during project implementation by at least 0.5 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), maintaining this increase for at least one year after project completion.
The investment project must not involve the creation or expansion of tourist accommodations of any kind.
The action supports micro and small enterprises on small islands in responding to globalization and the post-lignite era, improving their position in the domestic and international market with the goal of preserving existing and creating new jobs.
The Action will be implemented in accordance with EU Regulation 2023/2831 of December 13, 2023 (OJ EL 15.12.2023) concerning the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.

It is noted that funding applications will be evaluated comparatively.

Target Audience

Existing small and very small enterprises with at least two (2) completed fiscal years by the date of electronic submission of the funding application.

Eligible Expenses

A) Equipment, Transportation Means & Tools

Production & Mechanical Equipment, Automation systems and specialized IT systems, Office digital equipment, Other business equipment, Equipment for Environmental Protection and Energy Saving, Circular Economy Equipment, Equipment for installing photovoltaic stations and energy storage systems for self-consumption, Electric Transportation Vehicles.

B) Buildings, Installations & Surrounding Space

Building interventions for Environmental Protection, Energy & Water Saving, Waste Processing, Buildings, facilities, and surrounding space.

C) Service Provision Costs

Consulting services for project implementation monitoring, Product certification and compliance with national, harmonized and optional international/EU standards, Service & procedure certification, Promotion and export activities, Participation in trade fairs, Technical studies directly related to investment costs.

D) Indirect Costs

Indirect Costs (7% of the eligible direct costs of the investment project).
